Sweeney House

Park's interpreter Amy Taylor explains all the interesting features of Sweeney House to a group of visitors. Sweeney House is the defensible lockmaster's house at Jones Falls and free tours are available throughout most of the summer. The building is named after Peter Sweeney, the first lockmaster at Jones Falls. Sweeney left a diary of his time at this house which provides an insight into the life of an early lockmaster. The house has been restored to what it looked like shortly after it was built in the 1840s.
