MuZZeum Sleepover & Movie
SMITHS FALLS, ON – Pack up your kids’ sleeping bag, pillow and PJs for the Rideau Canal Museum’s Movie & Sleepover special event!
Starting at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 9, parents can accompany their child to watch our feature family film with popcorn, drinks and other goodies for sale to enjoy. Once the film has finished and the parents return home, the kids and museum staff begin a night of games, ghost stories and an exclusive museum treasure hunt!
Along with juice and snacks, the museum will also be supplying a pancake breakfast the next morning before parental pick-up at 9 a.m.
The cost is $4 for adults, $2.50 for children enjoying just the movie, and $20 for the movie, sleepover and morning pancakes. The event is for children aged 6 to 12-years-old and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to CHEO.
Kids should bring a sleeping bag, pillow, pyjamas, toothbrush and toothpaste, a change of clothes, their favourite stuffed animal, and a bottle of water.
Come a half-hour early (6:30 p.m.) to enjoy a free museum tour, which includes an 8-minute DVD presentation in the Auditorium, a unique walk through the “Tunnel of History,” a short climb to the Lookout Tower to see a panoramic view of the canal and sensational Smiths Falls, and 4 floors packed with informative exhibits.
Spaces are limited, so please pre-register by calling the Rideau Canal Museum at 613-284-0505. The museum is located at 34 Beckwith Street South in Smiths Falls.
