Amelie* Desjardins

St. Andrew's East Protestant Cemetery headstone shows name as "AmeliaDes Jardins". Also shows age at death to be 36 years. Note that thetranscriptions of St. Andrew's cemetery headstones mistakenly listsher age on the tombstone as 26.

In "History of Argenteuil" she is called "Amelia Gardner" presumablyan anglisized version of "Amelie Desjardins".

Shows in the 1861 Census as age 32, born in Lower Canada. That wouldmake a birth date of about 1829 which is different than the 1834calculated from her headstone date.

"Their first three children were baptized at Notre dame des SeptDouleurs at Grenville. Amelia is referred to as "Marie LouiseDesjardin" of that parish." [Dorreen Davidson, 2001]
