After her father died in 1905, Annie and her mother moved to Humboldt, Minnesota, near to where where her grandmother, Isabella MacIver (b.1834 - d.1903) and her step-grandfather, Donald Norman Murray (b. 1827 - d.1907) had a home (Halling, Minnesota). In about 1912 they returned to Canada, settling in Cookshire, Quebec. In 1915/16 she attended teacher's college at Macdonald College in St. Anne de Bellevue, Quebec. After graduating from teacher's college, Annie taught school in Montreal.

Jean* Francois (John) Wickenden

He received a degree in Civil Engineergin from McGill University. While attending McGill, John lived with his two brothers, Alfred and Henri who were residing in Montreal.

John graduated in about 1923. He married Annie later that year. He got a job in Montreal with Barrett Roofing. In late 1927 or early 1928 he decided to strike out on his own, moving to Trois Rivieres. John, Annie and their young daughter Jean, moved into one of the apartments on Haut-Boc Street that his brother Henri had built. He formed his own company, John F. Wickenden Company Limited, building a small office in the back of the apartments on Haut-Boc Street.

In about 1931, the family moved into a new house, built by John, at 363 St. Francois Xavier Street. An office was set up in the basement from which to run the John F. Wickenden Co. Ltd. Sometime later the office was moved downtown.

In 1937, John built "the Camp" on a lake near St. Mathieu, Quebec (near Shawinigan). This became a central gathering point for the family for many years to come.

In the early 1960s, John built a new house at 300 Terrace Berlinguet. In the (1980s?) the house at 363 St. Francois Xavier Street was torn down to make space for a parking lot.

One of John's career highlights was his success as President of the Bridge Committee in initiating the construction of a bridge across the St. Lawrence River, linking Trois Riveres with the south shore.
