| A cruiser, on its way to the locks at Jones Falls, passes by a couple of adult loons. The compression effect of the telephoto lens exagerates how close the cruiser was to the loons, there is about 25 feet of water between the loons and the cruiser. There have been accidents with boats and loons, particularly personal watercraft and loon chicks. The chicks cannot dive fast or deep enough to get out of the way of a fast moving boat. So please, watch out for the loons. |
