|Mergansers in Flight
photo by: Ken W. Watson, 2005
|April brings many types of ducks to the Rideau. One of the most common is the American Merganser, shown in the photo, bodies streamlined in flight. In the back of many of the bays you'll also commonly find Hooded Merganser and Mallard ducks. Loons also start to return just as the ice leaves the lakes.
