| On a lovely fall day in late September, a father enjoys a quiet bit of fishing with his two sons. In the background a boat is being locked up, the lockstaff are opening the sluices in the upper lock, letting water into the lock in order to raise the boat to the upper navigation level. As is usual with a locking, a group of visitors stands beside the lock, fascinated with this wonderful working piece of 19th century engineering. |
