Misty Morning at Jones Falls
Misty Morning at Jones Falls
photo by: Ken W. Watson, 2006

On a cool fall morning, the mist on the basin at Jones Falls is slowly illuminated by the rising sun. The crab (hand winch) in the foreground is used to open and close one of the upper gates at the top of the lower flight of three locks, that leads down to Whitefish Lake. The lock visible in the photo is the detached upper lock, leading to Sand Lake. The old blacksmith's shop is the building on the left.
