Parks Canada staff are always happy to help out a boater in need - in this case docking was made easier with the strong arms of the Captain of the Parks Canada vessel Rideau Voyageur, who saw this boater in a bit of trouble as he tried to dock, and ran over to lend a hand. Although the boat has an Ontario registry, the California flag flying on the bow hints at the origin of these boaters. Many Americans enjoy a leisurely vacation on the Rideau each year.
The tent in the background is part of the Newboro Boat Show, held on the grounds of the lockstation.
